Dr. Amal Ahmed – Optometrist
Dr. Amal Ahmed was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. Dr. Ahmed decided on a career in Optometry after working for a local Optometrist as an optical assistant. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences at the University of Alberta in 2010. In the fall of 2010 Dr. Ahmed made the journey to the UK to start her career in Optometry.
While achieving her Master of Optometry in 2014 at Aston University in Birmingham, UK, Dr. Ahmed completed a dissertation on Diagnosis and Management of patients with Alzheimer’s Disease, and a dissertation on Diabetic Retinopathy and Disease Management. She completed her hospital rotation at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield, UK. Upon completion of her Masters, Dr. Ahmed continued to work in the UK, working as a resident Optometrist in Canterbury. Dr. Ahmed returned home and completed the International Optometric Bridging program at Waterloo University in 2017.
Dr. Ahmed has a special interest in ocular disease including diabetic eye health and glaucoma, dry eye disease and myopia control for children. In her spare time Dr. Ahmed enjoys spending time with her family, travelling, reading and has a passion for classic cars.
Dr. F. Bruce Mann- Optometrist
Dr. Bruce Mann received his Doctor of Optometry degree from Waterloo University in 1987. He moved to Beaumont with his family shortly after to open his new practice. He has now lived and worked in the town for over 20 years. His favourite thing about being an optometrist is getting to know his patients.
Dr. Mann enjoys triathlons, chocolate, crossword puzzles and good music. You can often spot the doctor riding his bicycle around town.
Janet- Office Manager
Janet is a longtime resident of Beaumont and returning staff to the office. She is the first person you will meet when you step through the door. Janet will help you schedule appointments and will guide you through your selection of frames and lenses.
Janet has three trades (optometric assistant, tile setter and hair stylist) giving her a broad range of technical and artistic talents. She enjoys spending time at their 100 year-old lake cabin with family and friends.
